His Holiness Abune Mathias Urge Followers to Push National Dev’t Efforts Forward.

Addis Ababa: Upholding the ongoing peace and national development endeavors in the upcoming new Ethiopian year should be the concern of all, religious fathers have said. In best wishes they conveyed in connection with the turn of the new Ethiopian year 2006, the religious fathers said the turn of the New Year would be an occasion on which Ethiopians renew their commitment to accomplish the ongoing Grand National development projects.

They called on Ethiopians to respect and support each other, strengthen their unity within diversity, and together push the ongoing national development endeavors forward.

Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahido Church, his holiness Abune Mathias urged followers to continue working hard in the New Year to maintain peace and bring prosperity.

The local head of the church in Malankara is the Catholicose of India [His Beatitude Baselios Thomas I], ordained by and accountable to the Patriarch of Antioch.
